Have you ever wondered if there’s a way to boost your brain health and mental clarity without expensive supplements or complicated routines?

Many seek ways to improve cognitive functions, reduce stress, and enhance our well-being. Yet, we often overlook one of the simplest, most natural methods available — extended fasting.

With years exploring neuroscience, brain research, and cognitive psychology, and having shared my insights through a TEDx talk and practical guides, I aim to help people learn smarter and live healthier. This journey led me to explore the impact of extended fasting on brain health and overall well-being.

Since 2017 I’ve fasted 2–3 times a year for anything between 3 up to 10 full fasting days. In this article, I’ll take you through the surprising cognitive benefits of extended fasting, backed by science and personal experience. You’ll learn how this practice can enhance brain function, improve mood, and even help protect against neurological diseases.

What is Extended Fasting?

Extended fasting, also known as prolonged fasting, involves voluntarily abstaining from all or most food intake for longer than 24 hours.
